Rest, Listen & Begin Again: Sound Bathing for the New Moon.

As we approach the New Moon in Libra, we invite you to pause, soften and make space for a fresh beginning. With autumn settling in, this is a beautiful moment to turn inward and ask:

What do I need to feel nourished and supported?

One way, to join James Crossley at Serenity Space this Friday, 9 October, from 7.30–8.30 pm, for a Gong Sound Bath. An hour to step away from everyday demands and immerse yourself in sound.

How can sound support our wellbeing?

Sound baths offer an immersive space for rest and meditation. Emerging research suggests that sound meditation may help ease feelings of tension and support emotional wellbeing. As you listen, the sounds provide a gentle focus for your attention. An invitation to settle, breathe and reconnect with yourself.

You don’t need to quiet your mind perfectly or have meditation experience. Simply lie back, get comfortable and notice your experience as the sounds unfold.

Coming Home to Yourself — and Each Other

Our relationships ask us to balance connection with staying true to ourselves. Sometimes, keeping the peace means overlooking our own needs; other times, unspoken feelings make it harder to hear one another.

A sound bath offers a pause from these everyday demands. As sound meditation may help ease tension, that quiet space can become an opportunity to notice what you feel and need before moving into conversation or action.

You might gently ask yourself:

  • Where am I saying yes when I need to say no?

  • What needs to be expressed with kindness?

  • What do I appreciate about the people beside me?

Whether with a loved one at home or a colleague at work, returning to a conversation feeling more settled may help us listen more openly and speak with more care. Sound bathing cannot resolve a relationship difficulty for us, but it can offer space to reflect before we respond.

Let your intention for this New Moon be simple: to honour yourself while making room for honest, caring connection.

A quiet intention for the New Moon

We can use the New Moon as a reminder to begin gently. Instead of setting another demanding goal, consider an intention that creates room for care:

  • What would I like to nurture?

  • Where could I invite more ease?

Bring your intention to Friday’s sound bath, or simply come to rest and enjoy being held by our sanctuary space.

Make sound part of your weekly rhythm

For regular moments of connection, join Thimela Garcia’s Rest & Reset Restorative Soundbath every Tuesday at 7.45 pm, or Daisy Guy’s Baby Soundbath every Wednesday at 11.00 am.
