A New Chapter Begins: New Moon in Leo & Partial Solar Eclipse: Wednesday 12 August 2026

There are moments in the year that seem to invite us to stop, look at our lives with fresh eyes and ask:

What am I ready to begin again?

This New Moon in Leo, accompanied by a powerful Solar Eclipse, feels like one of those moments.

Eclipses have long been associated with turning points; times when something that has been sitting quietly beneath the surface can become clearer. We may suddenly recognise what has run its course, what needs more of our attention, or where life is inviting us to be a little braver.

But this doesn't have to mean dramatic change.

Sometimes a new chapter begins very softly.

It begins when we decide to look after ourselves differently.

When we finally make space for something that brings us joy.

When we say yes to an opportunity.

When we stop dimming ourselves to keep everyone else comfortable.

Or when we realise that the life we are creating isn't only about us — it can ripple outwards into our families, friendships and wider community.

What brings you alive?

Leo is associated with the heart, creativity, warmth, courage and the simple pleasure of being fully ourselves.

So perhaps the most useful question this New Moon can offer us is:

What genuinely brings me joy, and am I making enough room for it?

Joy can sometimes feel frivolous when there are responsibilities to manage and people who depend upon us. Yet when we are depleted, disconnected or constantly running on empty, we have much less to give.

Looking after ourselves isn't about turning away from others.

Quite often, it is what allows us to return to them with greater patience, generosity and presence.

This New Moon is therefore a beautiful opportunity to consider what fills your cup — movement, creativity, friendship, rest, nature, music, learning, travel, touch, laughter or simply having a little more space to breathe.

Your joy doesn't have to end with you. Let it become something you share.

A powerful invitation to change

There is another important thread running through this moment: freedom and transformation.

The astrology surrounding this New Moon creates an unusually dynamic pattern, suggesting that new ideas, conversations, relationships and communities can help us see possibilities we couldn't see before.

We don't have to do everything alone.

  • A conversation may open a door.

  • A friendship may inspire a different perspective.

  • Technology or new ways of communicating may connect us with people we would never otherwise meet.

  • Collaboration may achieve something that individual effort cannot.

At the same time, there is a powerful question around personal expression versus collective responsibility.

How do I shine without needing to overpower?

How can I honour what makes me unique while remembering that I belong to something larger?

How can my gifts be of service?

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful invitations of this eclipse: to move from "What do I want?" towards "What brings me alive, and how can that aliveness contribute to the world around me?"

Relationships can be part of the reset too

Another strong theme surrounding this New Moon concerns the balance between self and others.

Healthy relationships require both.

We need the courage to be ourselves, but also the grace to listen. We need independence, but we also need connection. We need to know when to stand firmly in our truth and when compromise creates something more beautiful than either person could create alone.

If something feels uncomfortable in a relationship, friendship or working partnership, we don't necessarily have to fix it immediately.

Instead, become curious.

What is this situation teaching me about myself?

Perhaps an old pattern is asking to be released. Perhaps clearer boundaries are needed. Perhaps forgiveness is possible. Or perhaps a relationship is ready to evolve into something different.

The invitation is not to force an outcome, but to create enough inner space for a wiser response to emerge.

Your New Moon reset

Rather than creating a long list of goals, try choosing one heartfelt intention for this next chapter.

You might ask yourself:

  • What would I love to welcome more of into my life?

  • What am I ready to leave behind?

  • Where have I been playing small?

  • What makes me feel genuinely alive?

  • Who do I want beside me as I move forward?

  • How could something that brings me joy also benefit someone else?

Write your answer somewhere. Come back to it over the next few weeks.

And then, importantly, take one small action.

An intention becomes powerful when we begin to live it.

Serenity Space: A Sanctuary to Restore & Renew

At Serenity Space, we believe wellbeing isn't something we should only turn towards when something goes wrong.

Sometimes we simply need somewhere to come back to ourselves.

A yoga or Pilates class can reconnect us with our body. A massage or holistic therapy can give an overworked nervous system permission to soften. A workshop can introduce a new idea or practice. A conversation in reception can unexpectedly brighten a difficult day.

And sometimes stepping away completely, perhaps through a retreat ,gives us enough distance from everyday life to remember what really matters.

Our hope is that Serenity Space can continue to be a sanctuary to restore, renew and reconnect, whether you visit us every week, occasionally for a treatment or workshop, or simply when life tells you that you need a little more space.

There is no single pathway to wellbeing.

The invitation is to listen to what your body, heart and mind need now.

Let wellbeing ripple outwards

Perhaps this New Moon can also inspire us to think about community differently.

Invite someone to a class who has been having a difficult time. Arrange a walk with a friend you've been meaning to call. Check on a neighbour. Share something you've learned. Book a massage rather than waiting until your body is shouting for attention. Try a workshop that takes you outside your comfort zone.

Small acts of wellbeing and kindness ripple.

When one person becomes calmer, stronger or more connected, the people around them often feel it too.

That is how individual wellbeing can quietly become community wellbeing.

And give yourself permission to enjoy your life.

This New Moon and Solar Eclipse reminds us that we don't always have to know exactly where the next chapter is taking us.

Sometimes we simply need the courage to turn the page.

May this New Moon bring you the courage to follow what lights you up, the wisdom to release what no longer belongs in your story, and the generosity to let your own wellbeing become a source of warmth for others.

From all of us at Serenity Space,

Happy holidays, happy New Moon and Solar Eclipse blessings.

With love,

Patricia & the Serenity Space Team ✨🌑☀️
