Every week we will be turning the focus on one particular Yoga pose (Asana). We will give you some interesting facts so you can find out more about the benefits of certain Yoga Asanas which you will do regularly in class. We hope this will help you understand more about each pose and perhaps give you some extra guidance on how they can help your body and mind.
Here is Triangle pose (Utthita Trikonasana) which activates the first to third Chakras. These Chakras are the body's energy and vitality centre and their activation are believed to dispel fear and insecurity.
This pose will create stability in us while we expand our heart chakra to it's full potential.
The benefits of this pose are:
- Stimulates the Abdominal organs
- Helps relieve stress
- Improves digestion
- Helps relieve the symptoms of the menopause
- Relieves backache, especially through the second trimester of pregnancy
- Therapeutic for anxiety, flat feet, infertility, neck ache, osteoporosis and sciatica.
Thank you for your helpful article. I have just started practicing yoga and I still know very little about the poses and their usefulness. I have heard a lot about this pose and found trikonasana images to better understand how to do it at home. I am sure that by following the recommendations I will be able to do yoga at home sometimes.
